Finally no more searching in multiple places!
One day I had an idea (and yes this can sometimes be a dangerous thing...).
I wanted to create a tool that allowed anyone to click a vehicle and get a vehicle specific price for window tint.
So I set off looking into how it could be done. I knew it was some kind of dynamic math setup, but was lost beyond that. After experimenting in Excel Worksheets (read about that story in SnapTip), I finally had an idea.
BUT ...
In order to make that happen, I had to create custom categories for vehicles. All of them. And as we sit right now, that vehicle database has over 12,000 vehicles!
When I eventually ended up with that database, I saw an opportunity for another tool. THAT is when Installer Notes was born!
What if I could use that same vehicle database, and let people share insights, notes, and difficulties for all sorts of vehicles? I always struggled searching through Facebook groups, forums, an YouTube videos to find info.
I thought about monetizing it, even. Maybe people will pay $5/mo or so for it. I decided not to go that route because I wanted it to be accessible to everyone. Anyone can go create an account and access the notes to read, share, and even REVIEW.
The review system is one of the more important features to me, though it looks so far like it gets missed. The review system allows the best notes to stay at the top of the list. That way if anyone is posting basic stuff with no real value, their note will be second to someone's note with more value.
After years of working and trying to make it all come together, I finally found the ai coding tools that I feel will be part of everyone's life in the future. I learned how to use them, and how to build this in a way I've always hoped to.
And now, the window tint and PPF industry has a free resource they can use and share info in so we don't all have to go through the same issues over and over again.
